About The Department

Forest Industry Engineering Department, the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Zonguldak Karaelmas was founded in 1993 in Bartin. Since 2008, however, it continues its academic activities in Bartin University. Bartin University, Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forest Industry Engineering has 4 program. These programs according to the chronological order is as follows:

1. Forest Industry Engineering Master's Degree Programme (1994-1995 academic year in opened in Education) 
2. Forest Industry Engineering Doctoral Programme (1995-1996 Opened in Education) 
3. Forest Industry Engineering Degree (1996-1997 Opened in Education) 
4. Forest Industry Engineering Master of Science Program (2013-2014 Education in Teaching opened in Education) 

Forest Industrial Engineering undergraduate program; 6 professors, 3 associate professors, assistant professors 2, for a total of 18 academic staff, including 1 Instructors, 2 Research Asistant Doctors and 4 Research Assistants. Forest Industry Engineering Department has 4 department: 

1. Forest Biology and Wood Protection Technology 
2. Forest Industry Machinery and Business 
3. Wood Mechanics and Technology 
4. Forest Products Chemistry and Technology 

In department 4 fully-equipped 130-person capacity anfi classrooms, seven laboratories, computer hall 1 to 50 people, 1 Pcs 50 people drawing room and there is one furniture workshop. The language of instruction is Turkish.

Purpose

Bartin University, Faculty of Forestry, Forest Industry Engineering undergraduate program aims; forest industry, the establishment, administration, operation, processed forest products, standardization, quality control and marketing issues that primarily wood, including as raw forest products processing industry enterprises to work with the necessary knowledge, the problems encountered to analyze and solve their ability to use modern engineering tools, which are able to apply their knowledge and skills with matching is to educate engineers and researchers.

Admission Requirements

Students who wish to enroll in section, the university's academic and legal framework of regulations set by the OSYM to complete the process / exam must be managed. Domestic or foreign equivalent program has begun can apply for a student transfer.  Admission of students from the beginning of the semester, each student's requirements and his application is examined and evaluated taking into account the degree. Graduation Requirements

Students who successfully complete all compulsory courses specified in the course plan and the minimum number of elective courses required; complete 240 ECTS credits and have a minimum CGPA of 2.00/ 4.00 will graduate.

Degree to earn

Upon successful completion of the program graduates fulfilling all requirements "in the area of Forest Industry Engineering Degree" will receive the degree.

Transition to Top Level

Students who complete the program successfully, Forest Industry Engineering in the field of science, or the area in which accept students from other disciplines can apply for master's and doctoral degrees.

Employment Opportunities

Forest Industry Engineering Environment and Forestry, SPO, TUBITAK, are employed in various public institutions such as the TSE. Forest Industry Engineering department graduates of design in all industries, forest products processing, planning, production, quality control and marketing work. Forest industrial engineer, forest products capable of design and drawing of products, mainly the production and planning in the industry, capable of preparing feasibility reports in areas related to forest products, factories and the establishment of workshop, operation, standardization of processed forest products, are involved in research areas such as quality control and marketing of . Preparation of feasibility reports, building and operating facilities, 10. Production and organization of forest products, 11. Forest products related to standardization and quality control processes, 12. Timber related forest products, timber, buying all kinds of raw materials such as pulp and marketing etc., 13. Chipboard, fiberboard, wood based panels such as plywood manufacturing and marketing etc.,
