About The Department

Forest Industry Engineering Department, the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Zonguldak Karaelmas was founded in 1993 in Bartin. Since 2008, however, it continues its academic activities in Bartin University. Bartin University, Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forest Industry Engineering has 4 program. These programs according to the chronological order is as follows:

1. Forest Industry Engineering Master's Degree Programme (1994-1995 academic year in opened in Education) 
2. Forest Industry Engineering Doctoral Programme (1995-1996 Opened in Education) 
3. Forest Industry Engineering Degree (1996-1997 Opened in Education) 
4. Forest Industry Engineering Master of Science Program (2013-2014 Education in Teaching opened in Education) 

1. Forest Biology and Wood Protection Technology 
2. Forest Industry Machinery and Business 
3. Wood Mechanics and Technology 
4. Forest Products Chemistry and Technology 

In department 4 fully-equipped 130-person capacity anfi classrooms, seven laboratories, computer hall 1 to 50 people, 1 Pcs 50 people drawing room and there is one furniture workshop. The language of instruction is Turkish.

Purpose

Bartin University, Faculty of Forestry, Forest Industry Engineering undergraduate program aims; forest industry, the establishment, administration, operation, processed forest products, standardization, quality control and marketing issues that primarily wood, including as raw forest products processing industry enterprises to work with the necessary knowledge, the problems encountered to analyze and solve their ability to use modern engineering tools, which are able to apply their knowledge and skills with matching is to educate engineers and researchers.

Target

Our department, not only on a national scale, well respected in the international level, quality, accredited with all departments by becoming a training and research center;

4. Areas on the basis of the data obtained from experimental studies that can and can evaluate the features and researchers who have learned the principles of access to information,  
5. Succeed in written and oral communication, which can express itself in the best way, to the fore in the areas of their business, persuasion skills and self-confidence,
6. Which are useful to the country and humanity, undergraduate and graduate students, is committed to raising.
